The music involved in our rough cut

We are fully aware about copyright issues. The music selected for our rough cut of our opening needed permission from the creator of the instrumental, he wanted a "heads up" and this is what we did.

YoungMagicProduction released this instrumental on www.youtube.com for anyone to use for free. Although it is unlikely that we will include this sound on our final piece, I believe it is important to always have a contingency plan.

I had asked him via twitter if we could use it as part of an edit for a short film and we are awaiting a reply. Like other people who were interested in this beat, we hope to receive a similar response - for example, the one pasted below.

Fingers crossed!

Re-Production of opening sequence - part 1

Filming our opening sequence has been a fun yet educational experience. Bonding with the group members and socialising between shots kept us all in high spirits during our long hours of filming.
I believe we have all learned the importance of being punctual to all of our recording sessions for we had wasted crucial moments to conclude specific shots; for example the book scene which is to be previewed on our blog at a later date.

During production we had to also be aware of framework. As one of the actors I found it a little difficult to maintain the correct positioning for the camera and this is something I need to improve and focus on for future recordings. I also feel I am to contribute a little more in regards to the accuracy of my movements to get the most out of each shot for the editing process. Overall I am content with what has been produced at this stage and look forward to the continuation of our film.

Editing Day 1

Today we began our editing process

Initial Aims:

1. To delete footage we don't need

2. Decide on the order of which our shots should be in

3. To make a start on selecting appropriate audio for our film

4. Merge current footage together e.g neat match cuts

5. To create a production ident

Also:

1. Take screen shots of today's editing progress

2. Make a short video demonstrating our involvement in the editing process

Title Sequence - Starter

This is what I've been doing for the title, I was using motion and final cut pro. I found it really useful because it allowed me to make it look realistic and fade it in.

Traivon's Filming BTS Footage

I wanted to create a video which showed the fun which we had during the recording process and how sometimes it took us a few tries to record one shot, but in the end we always got the best results.

My Filming Review 3 Final

This filming session was important for our group because not only was the the final and most productive by far, I feel that today we all really played an active role in the finalization of the filming. We each gave each other clear, concise and constructive criticism.Personally I learn't to take a step back sometime and take let others do something which I normally do to enable it gets don to the best of our ability. There were a few shots which Mustufa thought is would be important to include which had not been originally planned for at first I was slightly adamant to film these shots; they became some of my favourite shots.
