Target Audience for my media product (Teen Movie)


In my teen movie the target audience was  aged between 13-27. It involves romance, crime and education. It was set in college where most teenagers go to for education and socialising. During college most teenagers have romantic experiences and would want to watch a movie about it.
Crime is also a very big factor of the movie as teenagers in London living in rural areas get involed in a lot of crime which involves gangs and drugs.

A example of a famous teen movie which involves crime and romance in London is Kidulthood. It is very popular as it got a 6.8 on the IMDB scale.

Things that involed crime and romance in my movie

Arber Dervishi had a role of a young boy that wasn't rich but did what he can to survive which involed crime (stealing, etc).

Our main actors Arber Dervishi and Jasmine bumped into eachother while Arber was running away as he stole a bottled drink. Jasmine then dropped her books so Arber helped her and from the they fell in love.

Social Media

 As we know that our movie is targeted at teenagers we created some pages on social media web sites because in the 21st century nearly all teenagers use a type of social media. It's know that 94% of teenager have facebook accounts.

We can see that we have got two likes and two comments so far so i believe that the likes and comments will increase as we know that 94% of teenagers have a Facebook page.

Arber

Arber was presented as a negative character as he got involved in some crime (stealing) during our movie, but on the other hand was also to be seen as a poor person that does what he has to do to survive.

Jasmine

Jasmine was presented as a positive character as she was the popular ones and was the pretty looking girl.

While taking some of the scenes I tried to use a variety of shots and duplicates so that we can pick the footage we want and delete the ones we don't need. I also took a variety of shots ranging from long shots to extreme close ups of a scene so that we could have match cuts in our teen movie. Match cuts are known to be used in nearly in all modern movies.

Deadline Day - Final Push

To meet today's deadline it was vital that we began working immediately. We designated roles to one another, for example, Mustafa to edit first and Traivon was to re-film what was necessary.

The day started well. While we were huddled around to edit we noticed an incomplete clip (the book scene). With the equipment already pre-booked we quickly set up the filming apparatus and shot new footage (the library scene) to help tidy our current film.

By noon our primary focus was to finish our editing, including the title sequence and all special effects we desired to use. We didn't know

Distribution Ident

Today I edited some parts of our Distribution ident which included the font and size of the text and when it was suitable to come in after the effects put in.This included smoke, wind waves and a spinning object.

I put the name of the distribution just under the motion at the right side. I then transported the motion into final cut pro and added sound which had a type writer effect as the letters came one by one.

I believe that it looked excellent as everything looked perfect.

I added the sound just after we transported this to final cut pro and exported it as .mov format.

Editing

Today I continued to edit our teen movie by deleting un-wanted footage and discussing as a group on what footage should be used in certain parts. In most of the scenes we took i added effects to it so that it didn't look so plain and didn't just jump from one scene to another and that it was flowing through smoothly.

These included effects such as dissolve and ripple dissolve.

I have also used different effects such as slowing down the speed of some of the footage at specific scenes as it is the opening and needs to look more advanced and interesting.

Final Day Editing

Today I continued to edit our teen movie 'Love and Education'. I used Final cut pro to edit the teen movie. While choosing different scenes to put in I used different effects so that it didn't look so plain and basic. These effects included dissolve so that it was fluent. 

Other edits included lowering down the volume of some music notes as it was to loud.

Editing Day 3

Today's lesson was very productive because we managed to go out and re-film the shots which received bad feedback after we previewed our rough cut. We also managed to edit them in to our current editing progress. We had to be careful when we re-filmed because we had to wear the same clothing and use the exact same props as well as the same lighting. This was for continuity editing. During this editing day we also had feedback from Micky (member of staff for media) who told us we were making good progress, but pointed out minor improvements which we could possibly make.

We all felt like today everyone played an active part in the editing process.








Here is how we added a black and white effect to the fridge scene,we thought it would make it look more effective as a flashback if it stood out dramatically from the other scenes.

First we selected the scene which we wanted to put in black and white.

Then we found the colour filter which we wanted to apply to the film.

Opening Sequence - Rough Cut 1

We wanted to present what we had achieved so far during our editing process. This is only a rough edit of our opening sequence and is nowhere near complete; we have a few more clips to include.  

Missing Scenes:

- Remainder of title sequence

- Flashback clips (including the fridge scene)

- Book scene

Good things about our rough cut was:

• we have good angle shots for example our low angle shots of Characters exiting doors
• we have put in fades which adds dramatic effects to parts of the opening 
• we had music which fit our opening even though it is temporary

What we need to improve:

• finish it off adding the scenes
• add tittles 
• work on the jump and match cuts
• get the right music for it 
• make it clear of what it is about

Editing Day 2

Today continued to edit our film and make good progress towards its completion.We found that there was still a number of scenes which had to re-record, for the first half of the lesson though we edited what could of our film using the footage we had so far.

 

This part of our opening when the main character meets his friends upon the arrival to college was removed because we felt the shots we not strong enough and we rushed to record them.

Editing Day 1

Today we began our editing process


Initial Aims:

1. To delete footage we don't need

2. Decide on the order of which our shots should be in

3. To make a start on selecting appropriate audio for our film

4. Merge current footage together e.g neat match cuts

5. To create a production ident

2. Make a short video demonstrating our involvement in the editing process

Rule of Thirds in shots I took (Mustafa)

I have been recording scenes for our teen movie using the storyboard. While recording I have used a variety of different types of shots . These all range from long shots, medium shots, close ups and over the shoulder shots. I have also had low angle and high angle shots taken in certain scenes.

In most shots i tried to take shots which were on the rule of thirds on the strips as I wanted the shots to look excellent. I believe that obeying the rule of thirds is very important in the film industry as I have seen many shots in Holly Wood and other famous film industry companies using it in there films .

It need to lie in these strips for it to obey the rule of thirds rule...

Day 3 Filming final day

This was the last and most productive filming days out of the three, because we managed to get a lot filmed and we the most creative ideas on how to develop about film and explore shot types we may have neglected in earlier filming session.
