The first teen movie which i have chosen to analyse is Mean Girls, this is a comedy released in June 2004.Its main target target audience is females between the ages of 12-16.This is because the film mainly focuses on a females perspective of high school life.Being based in a high school setting helps its target audience of young females to be able to easily relate to the everyday trials and tribulations of the characters, e.g. Boys,popularity and friendships.The one of the main characters in the film is Lindsay Lohan who was a popular teen actor around the time of the films release, her being in this film would help boost its popularity due to the fact that her fans would watch the film solely because she is staring in it.

Kick Ass

Another teen movie i have chosen is Kick Ass an action comedy based on the comics 'Kick Ass'.The film released in March 2010 also has a high school setting,but is more focused on the 'Geeks' of the school who are interested in comic books and superheroes.The target audience is teenage boys between 15-19,this is because a large majority of boys whilst growing up were interested in superheroes.The films also has alot of m=bad language which makes in inappropriate for younger teens. .The comics which the film is based on would have also had its own fans who would have gone to watch the film to see how the comics have evolved in to a motion picture.The main character Dave Lizewski is a stereotypical geek in high school which has never grown out the superhero phase along with his two friends.

The Hunger games 

The final film which i will analyse is The Hunger Games the target audience for this  film is teens from 13-19 because it capture many of the elements which relate to a modern young person.The film released in 2012, fits in to three genres adventure,sci fi ,although it features romance which the teens can relate to.The main character also has to leave home this could also relate to the older teens who may watch this film who may be separated from family.The younger teens will enjoy the action packed elements of the film which make them feel excited whilst watching.
